Our newly published detailed analysis of technology trends combines patent data with global technology growth trends. We identify how the Czech innovation ecosystem responds to global trends, who in Czechia is keeping pace with the global leaders, and where we are falling behind.
The results challenge simplistic claims of "low innovation" and instead point to a structural problem: how technological value is anchored, scaled, and maintained. The analysis provides concrete evidence for more targeted innovation and industrial policies—and for strategic decisions by companies operating in Czechia and the state.
A more detailed insight into knowledge offshoring is provided by our previous analysis for the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, in which we found that a significant proportion of patents invented in Czechia are owned by foreign companies – and that these foreign-owned patents tend to be significantly more valuable than those that remain domestically owned.
